Paymentshield will offer the discount on new policies for an initial period of three months meaning new customers buying home emergency help before 30th April 2015 will now receive 12 months cover for less than £2 a month.
Paymentshield will automatically apply the introductory discount when advisers add home emergency cover to their customer’s quotation via their intermediary website.
Lee Mooney, product, proposition and marketing director, said: "Home emergency cover can give customers greater confidence that they can get things quickly back to normal following an unexpected emergency at home. This might include the need to call out with confidence a tradesman such as a locksmith, plumber or electrician to deal with a problem quickly. This cover is particularly useful at this time of year when extreme weather can leave customers badly inconvenienced."
Customers are able to call a 24 hour emergency helpline whenever they feel their home is unsafe, unsecure or uninhabitable. This could mean a boiler break down in the depths of winter, urgent help is needed to repair a burst pipe or emergency roof repairs to keep the elements out and stop further damage to their home. In addition, any parts and labour costs needed to make the customers home safe and secure again are also covered up to £500 – with no excess to pay.”
Paymentshield is reinforcing the details of the cover, how to claim and the promotional pricing in a dedicated insert going into customer welcome packs. Advisers will also have access to additional product information to help explain the benefits of the product and details of the introductory discount.
Mooney added: “With Paymentshield’s home insurance average premiums already falling by £60 over last year, this additional introductory rate means a Paymentshield home insurance customer who is adding home emergency to their policy could save a significant amount of money compared to this time last year making the extra protection much more affordable.
"Throughout 2015 we will continue to identify opportunities to create more value for advisers and their customers including the addition of more big names to our home and landlords Insurance panel.”
