Founded in 1993 by Managing Director Ann Dempster and co director David Felix Davies, Coventry based Plum Software now provides back office systems and support to over 1200 IFA and Mortgage and Insurance broking firms with in excess of 4000 users.
In an industry that can claim very few software houses with a 10 year history, Ann Dempster attributes the success of Plum Software to the strong relationships they have developed with clients. “When an Adviser invests in back office software, they are not just buying a product; they are entering into a long term relationship with us”, she says.
“We pride ourselves on being part of the Advisers team, and make sure from the beginning that we provide a people friendly service”, says Dempster. “For example our telephone lines are always personally answered, and we regularly have meetings with our clients and their staff where we listen and respond with product developments they need.”
The past year has seen evidence of this client led development of software, with three major initiatives. An Application Service Provider (ASP) version of the software allowing advisers to access their back office system over the Internet; extensive enhancements to make managing the Mortgage Process a simple one; the launch of Plum Portal which enables electronic updating of clients unit allocations from leading product providers.
