The roadshow was held at The Culloden Hotel, Belfast and intermediaries heard from 16 lenders on their views and visions for the mortgage market in the Northern Ireland province, including the non-conforming market, equity release and retention strategies. The intermediaries then quizzed the senior representatives on a variety of topics which included exit fees, procuration fees, and co-ownership schemes. Shaun McFall from Pension & Financial Consultants Ltd commented: “The presentation on lifetime mortgages was great.”
Delegates were given the opportunity to meet the lenders and discuss the product range and criteria from the 16 lenders exhibiting at the event. Matt Sloan, of S&C Financial Services, said: “to be able to have one to ones with so many lenders in one place has been really useful.”
John Malone, managing director of PMS, commented: “Coming here today wasn’t about PMS but getting the lender partners and intermediaries together, hence we didn’t restrict attendance to just our members. The event has been a tremendous success and we will look to hold similar events in the province again during 2007. All the lenders who attended have given me their commitment to support us again at such an event.”
