The Society continues to offer a number of mortgages which are available through its branches, direct mortgage centre and via intermediaries.
The product changes include:
Two-year fixed rate mortgage – 4.49 per cent (arrangement fee £999)
Two-year fixed rate mortgage – 4.69 per cent (arrangement fee £599)
Two-year discount mortgage – 4.19 per cent (arrangement fee £999)
Two-year discount mortgage – 4.29 per cent (arrangement fee £499)
End dates on all mortgage products extended to 31 July.
Commenting on the changes Helen Shaw, group communications manager for Portman said: “Even though the Bank Base Rate held steady at 4.5 per cent yesterday, money markets are still experiencing a degree of volatility and this is impacting on mortgage pricing. However, as usual, we have managed to deliver market-leading rates to borrowers. In order to better match borrowers individual needs, we have also introduced new products which minimise interest rates for those borrowers seeking to keep their monthly outgoings to a minimum.”
