At £258,760 this is less than it's price in July 2007, but year on year the average price has increased by 0.7 per cent.
SmartNewHomes.com has said that this increase is a positive sign that confidence may be returning to the new homes market. It will also have been helped by the number of incentives being offered by developers due to the pre- Christmas and year end push.
Penthouses recorded strong price growth over the last month – typically snapped up by top end buyers who may not be so alarmed about the current climate, their popularity looks set to continue.
Apartments still make up the majority of the housing mix at 55 per cent, followed by detached homes and then townhouses.
However, the price buyers are willing to pay recorded less significant growth, indicating buyers are remaining cautious.
