This is the second time such data has been published. The lenders involved include Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, RBS, and Santander
The nationwide data has been compiled jointly by the BBA and the CML, with participating lenders publishing their own figures also.
BBA’s chief economist, Richard Woolhouse said: “We’ve been working hard to make this data as accurate as possible.
“It now accounts for 96% of lending to small businesses and 99% of personal loans by post code sector.
“However, the data remains complex and it is still difficult to draw conclusions about local level lending.
“Despite the lingering issues, this work underlines that banks lend to companies and people wherever they are based in the UK.”
