The average asking price for a prime property in the Uk is now £474,469 up by £20,193 or £74 a day since January.
Asking prices for all properties have increased by £3,636 or £13 a day over the same period.
The difference in asking prices between the two bands has widened significantly over the last quarter as prime properties have increased while the general market has declined.
Nigel Lewis, property analyst at Primelocation, said: “Prime properties are driving the market at the moment leading price increases in areas where the market is robust and stabilising the market in areas where asking prices are dropping.
“In Manchester for example overall asking prices have increased by 0.8% since the start of the year which has been driven by an 8.2% increase in prime asking prices.”
London lead the country with a monthly appreciation in prime properties of 2.8% per month. With the average asking price for a prime London property at £1,181,670, the daily increase in prime London property price is £1,103.
