In the year to June 2014 there was a 78% Increase in £1m plus sales in the Midlands and Wales, while in the North prime sales increased by 24%.
In terms of the bulk of sales the majority were situated in Southern England around the transport corridors of the M3, M4 and the M40, due to their proximity to London.
Those moving from London in particular are taking advantage of the gap between urban and rural areas when it comes to house price growth, as they are finding they can get more for their money.
Since the market low in 2009 house prices in the country have risen by just 5.6% compared to runaway increases of 74% in London.
