BuildLoan, Just Mortgages, and LSL name new directors; Alternative Bridging hires BDM
Four property finance firms have announced key appointments, strengthening their leadership and business development teams as part of broader growth strategies.
Self-build and renovation finance distributor BuildLoan has promoted Chris Martin (pictured far left) to director of operations from his previous role as head of product development and lender relationships.
Martin, who has been with the company for six years, brings over 35 years of experience in financial services, including roles in retail banking, mortgage brokerage, and underwriting. His new role is part of BuildLoan’s growth strategy, focusing on expanding the product range and developing digital services.
“In the last three years, we’ve made huge progress in developing products and online solutions,” Martin said. “We will now build on this to make researching and securing the right product even easier for brokers.”
Meanwhile, national brokerage Just Mortgages has expanded its self-employed management team by appointing James Hoskins (pictured second from left) as area director.
Hoskins brings two decades of experience in financial services, including roles at Countrywide and NatWest. Based in Bristol, Hoskins will support brokers in the region and into the Midlands and will mentor brokers and help firms grow through broader services and recruitment.
“My aim is to add my skills into this team and continue the great work, all while helping to grow the division with more ambitious brokers,” Hoskins said on his appointment. “It certainly feels to me that self-employed provides the best environment for brokers to reach their full potential and with Just Mortgages, they can step out of that corporate structure and build something really successful.”
In another key industry move, LSL Financial Services has appointed Laura Martin (pictured second from right) as marketing director.
Martin joins from Sesame Bankhall Group, where she led brand, communications, and broker education initiatives. With over 20 years of experience, including roles at Together, Aldermore, and Platform, Martin will focus on enhancing LSL’s support for its adviser network.
“This is such an exciting time, as we further develop our business for the future,” Martin commented. “I’m looking forward to continuing strengthening our position as a broker-first business.”
At Alternative Bridging Corporation, Zack Cohen (pictured far right) has been promoted to the role of internal business development manager (BDM) after starting as an intern earlier this year.
“My internship offered invaluable experience, allowing me to deepen my understanding of property finance and work directly with brokers,” Cohen said. “I’m excited to take on the role of internal BDM, where I can further contribute to the company’s success by helping expand its reach.”
