1.2 million buyers, sellers and renters visited propertyfinder.com in February, a 65 per cent increase over the last four months since it was acquired by News International and realestate.com.au in November.
In February, the visitors to Propertyfinder generated 580,000 referrals to estate agents at an average of eight referrals per agent per day and at a cost of only forty five pence per referral - or the price of a Kit Kat.
Over 2,650 agents use Propertyfinder, an increase of 30 per cent over the last four months, and advertised over 300,000 properties in February.
Research carried out by propertyfinder in January revealed 51 per cent of people choose the internet as their preferred method to search for a property, compared with 32 per cent the previous year.
Simon Baker, acting chief executive officer at Propertyfinder, said: “This clearly demonstrates that the internet is the future of property advertising. Market-leading agents in the UK and throughout the world are rapidly adopting the internet as their first choice for finding buyers, sellers and tenants. Today alone, we drove over 24,000 leads to agents through emails, phone calls and click throughs to agents’ websites."
