At the event, Quest will be demonstrating its already-live Home Information Pack (HIP), which is instantly available via the UK surveyor community, to estate agents.
"We have heard a lot of negativity from the Estate Agent sector regarding the provision of the Home Information Pack. We want to demonstrate that surveyors are the best single point of contact for Estate Agents looking to obtain a HIP and its associated Home Condition Report. By harnessing existing Quest systems, which have been in place for many years, surveyors are in a prime position to manage this service offering." says Tom Parker, managing director of Quest Associates.
The Quest system allows Surveyors to produce all the essential HIP contents, including:
- Initiating local authority, Land Registry and property searches electronically;
- Scanning of non-electronic documents;
- Directing vendors to a website to complete preliminary enquiries;
- Posting of completed HIPs to a secure website;
- Printing completed HIPs or sending, electronically, to specialist print shops;
- Directing estate agents, or others, to a specific website to instruct HIPs.
Concludes Parker: "The surveyor community is extremely well placed to become Home Information Pack providers when it comes into force in 2007. A majority of Estate Agents have existing links with surveying businesses, so systems and contacts are already in place. By working with these firms, the contents will be gathered automatically and the HIP returned electronically for publication on Estate Agents' websites. It really is very simple."
