She will be working closely with compliance director, Nick Battersby. Wilkinson, whose last post was head of compliance at Mortgage Next, has worked in the mortgage industry for over 20 years, including spells at the MCCB and regional building societies.
RAMP has continued to emphasise the importance of putting the tenets of the FSA’s requirements at the heart of their businesses.
Commenting on Claire Wilkinson’s appointment, Nick Battersby said: “Securing the services of someone of Claire’s ability and pedigree is a real coup for RAMP. She has been hugely influential and productive in her role at Mortgage Next and her experience of the requirements of networks will be a valuable resource. But her overall experience of the regulatory environment will give us an extra dimension and allow us to improve the service which is extended to all RAMP members.”
Claire Wilkinson added: “I am really looking forward to working with RAMP members. The environment is different, coming from a workplace dominated by the needs of appointed representatives (ARs) but I have been very impressed with the way in which RAMP is dedicated to working closely with its customers and their different needs, ensuring a compliant framework while following the methodology of TCF (treating customers fairly).”
John Rice, managing director of RAMP, said: “RAMP is the only packager alliance to really put compliance at the heart of its offering. Intermediaries and customers who use RAMP members are assured of the highest standards as well as receiving class leading products and pricing. Claire’s arrival will add to the value we offer our members and their customers, enabling us to build upon our range of training and support services which will keep us at the forefront of excellence in mortgage distribution.”
