The 2006 training workshops are designed to cover areas including FSA compliance auditing, Training & Competence, preparation for an FSA supervisory visit and senior management responsibilities under the approved persons regime.
Nick Battersby, compliance director at RAMP, explained the underlying concept behind the packagers collective was to ensure members and their businesses were not just scratching the top of the surface of operating in a regulated environment but exceeding any future expectations from the regulator. The workshops are already reported to be oversubscribed.
He said: “The workshops are designed to provide members and their staff with the practical tools to ensure a properly compliant environment and to complement their already established existing in-house training programmes. We are planning a whole year of rolling workshops covering areas vital to our members’ businesses. The fact that the demand is high just means we shall schedule more events to make sure everyone gets the chance to participate.”
John Rice, managing director of RAMP, said: “It is very encouraging to see that members are keen to participate in the workshops. The value we place on operating at best practice level with regard to regulation has had a significant and positive impact on the way that brokers and direct customers view our members.”
Bill Warren, director of The Complete Network, commented: “RAMP has excellent compliance procedures and it is aware and conscious of all FSA issues. The attendance for the workshops is sure to be high. I expect them to be very practical and very focused, therefore providing greatly added value for attendees.”
