The modular programme includes topics such as prevention of money laundering, mortgage and insurance regulation, and Training and Competence. RAMP members can build the courses to suit their own particular business needs and employees have the flexibility to access them remotely at a time that suits.
Nick Battersby, compliance director at RAMP, said the announcement would further develop members’ in-house Training and Competence schemes. “We have chosen Absolutely Training to build a customised e-learning solution that will provide our members with a comprehensive online facility to further assist with meeting their regulatory needs,” he said.
Carl Crisostomo, marketing director at Absolutely Training, commented: “E-learning can be easily customised to meet the regulatory needs of an organisation and can react quickly to sudden alterations in FSA or business policy, passing changes straight down through to the training.”
Andrew Seymour, chairman of Optoma, agreed e-learning is the future of compliance and competence training. He said: “It is a brilliant concept and an ideal solution. The only downside is some brokers are still IT-illiterate. It is a great idea as long as the intermediary uses it.”
John Rice, managing director of RAMP, said: “RAMP’s original brief was to ensure that its members could focus on ensuring they presented a totally compliant platform to brokers and the regulator. This new facility enhances this goal and will allow our members to develop their own courses in a cost-efficient way by harnessing the buying power of the group.”
