On its tenth anniversary, The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 league table, revealed Personal Touch Financial Services (PTFS) as the 64th fastest growing privately owned company in Britain. Many of the previously quoted companies have now floated; these include Carphone Warehouse and chip designer ARM. Others have become household names such as Boden, Fat Face, Cobra Beer and Travelex.
Personal Touch came in at 64th position, only two places behind Innocent (fruit drinks) but ahead of high profile names such as Redbridge (telecom systems), Holidays 4U and Unicom. The research showed Personal Touch had an annual growth of nearly 80 per cent and it was the only company in the top 100 of its kind.
The financial services industry has known for some time that Personal Touch has been seeing significant growth since M-day. Recently the company had a further boost with LDC part of Lloyds TSB Group making a significant investment and acquiring a share in the company.
Martin Wilson, chairman at Personal Touch, said: “this is testimony to the great team I have and the hard work they have been doing to work in partnership with our members. The better news is that we are currently experiencing record growth levels both on mortgage, protection and IFA sales so I expect us to be a contender for The Times top 100 next year.”
Nigel Stockton, managing director of HBOS Intermediaries, commented: “we have excellent relationships with the team at PTFS across all our brands and if our growth with them is anything to go by then I am not surprised that PTFS have achieved this accolade. I congratulate the team and am confident the partnership we have developed will continue to thrive.”
Michael Bolton, chief executive of edeus, added: “It was of no surprise to any of the team at edeus to read that PTFS is one of the fastest growing companies in the country. PTFS has a track record of superb delivery both to their business partners but more importantly to their members, this will no doubt underpin continued growth in the future. Congratulations to the whole PTFS Team’”
Mike Allison, managing director at Personal Touch, said: “We are operating in a very competitive market so to see this growth is superb. Our network numbers are growing at a pace as intermediaries become aware of our proposition and we have a number of new launches programmed for the New Year which will further enhance our proposition and growth.”
