Royal London boss cycles for charity

Deane will be part of a group of senior executives from the financial services industry, known as the Money Spinners, and will set off from Paris on Saturday 3 September, riding up the Champs-Élysées and past the Arc de Triomphe.

If things go to plan he will arrive in Pauillac in the Medoc, Bordeaux, eight days later on 11 September.

Alzheimer’s Research UK, Royal London's national charity partner, and Alzheimer’s Society, the nominated charity of the Moneyspinners, will both benefit from the marathon cycle ride.

In 2010, Deane raised more than £5,000 for Royal London’s previous national charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, by cycling coast to coast across England, Wales and Ireland, from Lowestoft to Dingle Bay.

This year Deane is hoping the generosity of donors will help him raise even more money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Deane said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to get back on my bike to raise money for these worthy causes.

“It’s going to be a difficult journey but the support I’ve received so far from people, both in Royal London and elsewhere in the industry, will help push me on when I’m winding my way through the French countryside.”

The intermediary division of Royal London includes Scottish Life, Bright Grey, Scottish Provident and Royal London 360°.
