Given an expanded role, he will now be responsible for the mutual's property development line-up too
Saffron Building Society has announced that Tony Hall (pictured) will assume an expanded role as head of business development.
Hall succeeds Peter Owen, who is retiring after nearly a decade with the company. Hall will also oversee Saffron Building Society’s property development team in his new position. His appointment consolidates all of Saffron’s front book lending under one umbrella.
Owen, the mutual’s current head of property development, will retire this week. He joined Saffron as head of property development in 2014, and played a pivotal role in reshaping the company’s development portfolio into a core aspect of its current offerings, it was stated.
Meanwhile, Matt Hardy, currently Saffron’s property development manager, will assume the role of national lending manager – property development, reporting directly to Hall.
“Firstly, I would like to thank Peter for his stellar decade of service at Saffron,” Tony Hall, head of business development at Saffron for Intermediaries, commented. “I am really excited by my expanded remit, and I am looking forward to building on Peter and Matt’s success.
“Property development is a central part of the business, and this is a fantastic opportunity to more closely align two of Saffron’s key offerings – something which will benefit developers and brokers alike.”
