Eastgate is the second Saffron director to join Kent Reliance after Andy Golding became chief executive early last year.
Eastgate said: “I’ve joined Kent Reliance at a time when the mortgage market is facing many challenges, the most significant of which is the lack of mortgage supply.
"It is therefore refreshing to be joining a business with such a strong commitment to growth. We are actively looking to partner with intermediaries and want to help good quality borrowers who may find it difficult to get a mortgage thanks to ever narrowing criteria in the marketplace. I look forward to delivering value for Kent Reliance, intermediaries and borrowers alike.”
Eastgate brings five years experience at Experian, the global information services business, and ten years at Barclays to the bank.
Kent Reliance chief executive Andy Golding added: “We are committed to organic growth of our mortgage book and I believe that John’s appointment demonstrates that.”
