The Business Exchange will support qualified Home Inspectors in the commercial market for Home Condition Reports.
SAVA expects some 2,000 Home Inspectors to qualify through its assessment centre, many of whom will wish to become part of the SAVA Business Exchange to receive instructions and support its activities. It is therefore essential that the Exchange be based on a proven and scalable solution.
The majority of individuals qualifying as Home Inspectors through the SAVA Assessment Centre anticipate operating as sole traders or within small, independent businesses. This applies to both existing residential surveyors and, particularly, individuals from other professions, including construction managers, architects and architectural technicians, housing managers and many other professions.
Almost 50 per cent of SAVA Assessment Centre candidates have no connection with the current residential surveying / valuation industry and SAVA is committed to supporting them in the developing market. The SAVA Business Exchange will provide access to instructions from Home Information Pack (HIP) providers, as well as providing the software systems and support Home Inspectors will need to operate efficiently and profitably in the future.
Brian Scannell, managing director of SAVA, commented: “By building the SAVA Business Exchange on the proven infrastructure provided by xit2, we are able to create a solution that will meet the needs of both Home Inspectors and those requiring Home Condition Reports. Combining the expertise of xit2 in the management and distribution of instructions and reports with our own Home Condition Report software creates and unbeatable combination in the Business Exchange.
“The SAVA Business Exchange will allow Home Inspectors to receive and manage instructions, produce approved Home Condition Reports and access a wide range of support services efficiently and effectively – allowing them to focus on undertaking inspections and earning fees. The xit2 platform is central to delivering this solution.”
Paul Duckworth, chief executive at the xit2 group said: “We were delighted to work alongside SAVA as an independent technology partner to help them deliver a truly independent and robust solution that will support this crucial requirement which is needed to ensure that the housing market reaps the benefits of HIPs. The Business Exchange delivers a Home Condition Report solution that satisfies the numerous issues and procedures and provides an essential tool for the independent Home Inspector.
“We are not going to be a provider of HIPs but are delighted that xit2 technology plays such a crucial role in enabling those that do provide HIPs to compile the myriad details required.”
