His expertise includes the financing of estates, farms, food processors, equestrian centres, garden centres and rural diversification projects.
Prior to joining, Mark worked for 4 years at the Agribusiness unit of the Clydesdale Bank where he held a portfolio of rural clients in the South East and his duties included targeting new customers and developing the business. Mark arranged finance for a variety of properties ranging from equestrian centres and fruit farms right up to large estates. The level of lending involved ranged in size from £250,000 up to £5,000,000.
Prior to this role he worked for Andersons, the farm consultants in East Anglia, where he managed farms and estates. He is also a graduate of the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester.
Mark will be based out of the SPF Guildford office but will be taking on a national role for SPF in this arena. Mark has begun visiting the rural offices within FPDSavills and has already received some leads. FPDSavills is the largest land manager in the country.
Simon Dice, director at SPF, says: “We are delighted at Mark’s arrival. We consider this area of lending to be a large source of untapped business. Mark will be of benefit to SPF as he is bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in this area. Farms and estates for example have always been a problem for us in the past. Having someone on board who can deal with these enquiries will be of great benefit to us.’’
