Intermediaries who log-on to the site will receive regular updates on the lending brand and will gain access to products and information on Scarborough Building Society’s main brand. The site also includes an online discussion forum, giving intermediaries the chance to take part in debates led by the lender.
Simon Evans, group relationship manager at Scarborough Building Society, said: “There is currently a considerable amount of debate in the specialist lending arena – including discussion about the number of new entrants poised to make an appearance.
“We think this is healthy in a mature sector which is undergoing a great deal of change in response to social and consumer demands. Therefore, we were keen to encourage the kind of debate which will help to move things forward – while also enabling us to get a further insight into the views of brokers and packagers and what they want to see offered by lenders such as ourselves.
“We will take a close look at the input we receive, and look to responding accordingly.”
Sheridan Bradley, mortgage adviser at Lodemead, welcomed the online discussion site. She said: “It is a good idea to have a forum site. It gives people the chance to see what others are thinking, and with the growth of the market, and new people entering it, it is always good to see what other people are doing and what they think about the state of the market.”
Evans confirmed the site would launch an online portal for online decisions in the New Year, along with the ability to complete e-applications and case-tracking on the site.
