More than 4000 members have been signed up since the launch of The Mortgage Alliance in 2000 and the value of mortgages placed has trebled in the last twelve months alone.
Commenting on the move, national mortgage marketing manager for Scottish Provident, Mark Evans, said: "Scottish Widows is the eighth new panel member to join this year so far. As well as an innovative product range, including loans for professionals and graduates, there are a number of other niche areas such as home equity, flexible and buy to let mortgages, where I feel they can benefit The Mortgage Alliance."
Procuration fees for cases introduced to Scottish Widows via The Mortgage Alliance are £200 for loans up to £50,000, £400 for loans between £50,001 and £150,000 and 0.40% (max £1,500) for loans over £150,000.
