The forum enables advisers to discuss RDR-related topics, such as qualifications and moving to fee charging. The move is part of a more flexible approach to communications by Sesame, with its training and development programme also including a greater use of virtual events and online learning.
Stephen Young, chief operating officer at Sesame Bankhall Group, says that by gauging adviser sentiment on a daily basis, Sesame will be able to respond more quickly to the evolving needs of its members. “Online business forums have risen in popularity and are ideally suited to the evolving RDR environment. It quickly and easily enables advisers to post any concerns and issues that we can then try to help solve. Members can also share their experiences and ideas with each other, which will provide firms with a useful source of advice and reassurance on their individual RDR journeys.
“It is a live, real time environment that helps us to interact with members on this important topic. We will also be looking to address any emerging themes as part of our wider learning and development programme.”
