The SimplyBiz Group has unveiled the responses to its recent 'I'm an adviser initiative' which was designed to find out more about the hobbies, pastimes and charitable endeavours of the advisers who use its services.
The interests they have heard thus far include beekeeping, race car driving and pole fitness.
The group’s members also share stories about a wide range of charitable feats including trekking the Great Wall of China, cycling endurance challenges and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for a host of very worthy causes.
Richard Ardron, marketing director of The SimplyBiz Group, said: “We have a very close relationship with many of the firms that use our services and we hear a great number of fascinating stories from them over the phone and out at events; so much so that we decided to launch ‘I’m an adviser’ and find out more about what our members do when they’re not providing valuable advice to their clients.
“We didn’t expect to receive so many accounts of the inspiring, unusual and heart-warming things advisers get up to in their spare time, and we’re very grateful to everyone who’s taken the time to share their experiences with us so far.
"At its heart, financial services is a people business and, just as it helps advisers build better relationships with their clients if they get a holistic picture of their lives, we’ve learned a lot from shining this spotlight on advisers and gaining a better understanding of what they really care about.”
