Industry veteran to succeed Andrew Bottomley following his retirement in April
Skipton Group has appointed Jasvinder Gakhal (pictured) as its new chief executive of Money, pending regulatory approval.
Gakhal will take over from Andrew Bottomley, who announced his retirement last autumn. She will officially join Skipton Group on March 3. She will work alongside Bottomley to ensure a smooth transition before he steps down following the company’s annual general meeting in April.
Based in Leeds, Gakhal brings nearly two decades of experience from Direct Line Group, where she led multi-disciplinary teams across multiple locations. Most recently, she spent three years as managing director of Direct Line’s motor and rescue division, overseeing pricing changes, regulatory adjustments and a technology overhaul.
“I’m absolutely delighted to announce that Jazz Gakhal has agreed to join Skipton Group and take over the ‘CEO Money’ reigns from Andrew Bottomley,” stated Skipton Group chief executive Stuart Haire. “Jazz is creative, energetic and passionate, and leads people and businesses with authenticity.
“With her experience of delivering both commercial and customer outcomes, and her natural curiosity, she’s perfect for what we want to achieve in our Money business – making our members’ money work even harder.”
Commenting on her appointment, Gakhal said she was excited to join a company with strong Yorkshire roots and a commitment to customer-focused financial well-being.
