The restructuring, which involved SLM moving from Leeds to RLGs operating centre in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in November last year, was part of a Group wide initiative to streamline the different parts of the business, pooling resources and improving efficiency and service levels.
Benefiting from the mature infrastructure provided by RLGs experienced administration business, which includes a team of expert compliance and mortgage administration staff, the new SLM offer has been developed to enable mortgage intermediaries to meet the challenges of regulation while streamlining administration through the use of technology. Key elements of the new service include:
- Sourcing Software
- Packaging facilities
- Panel construction
- Compliance
The new offering has already attracted considerable interest. Leading Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) network Ashley Law, whose 150 members place close to £1bn of mortgage lending a year, is now outsourcing all its mortgage packaging and panel construction to SLM. The new arrangement harnesses SLMs bulk buying power, enabling network members to offer a dedicated mortgage service with access to market-leading products, including deals exclusive to Ashley Law.
Jock Cassidy, Managing Director of Ashley Law commenting on the SLM deal said: ”Whilst we recognise it is imperative to offer a professional service to clients, as a national IFA Company Ashley Law’s objective is to provide top flight support to our independent advisers.
”We have selected SLM to provide mortgage services as they offer a high quality, compliant service with supporting technology that removes much of the administrative that has been associated with mortgage business. This enables our Members to concentrate on their main priority; providing an excellent service to clients. ”
