The SMP will take its roadshow to Birmingham tomorrow (11 March), while it will host a show in Bristol on Thursday (12 March).
Speakers at the events will include John Charcol senior technical manager Ray Boulger, Aldermore’s head of business development Robert Barnard and Simon Chalk from the Equity Release Council.
Later in the month roadshows will be held in Glasgow on 24 March and finally in London on 26 March, while in the capital the FCA’s manager of mortgage policy Lynda Blackwell will give a presentation entitled ‘MMR – it’s aim and overall impact’.
Gary Little, the SMP's head of operations and membership, said: “As we head towards the end of our first year since the introduction of MMR it is an ideal opportunity for advisers to take stock and consider the key opportunities for 2015 and beyond.
“The events will cover topics such as income protection, buy-to-let and equity release and are designed to show financial advisers what’s coming down the track from a compliance and regulatory perspective.
“As well as highlighting the potential of prospective new markets and reminding them of the value of other areas where they may not have been active in recently.”
The SMP will also host roadshows in the third quarter of 2015.
