The division will service all of Spicerhaart estate agencies as well as other estate agents, lenders and auction houses when HIPs are introduced in June 2007.
The packs will include title deeds, council searches, legal documents, warranties and guarantees as well as Home Condition Reports prepared by Wolton Chartered Surveyors, the surveying arm of Spicerhaart. The packs will be white labelled and branded to support each estate agency name. The group estimates that it will produce around 200,000 HIPs a year targeting successful independent estate agents wanting to stay ahead of their competitors.
Stephen Nation, managing director of hips.co.uk, said: “The Spicerhaart Group has embraced the concept of HIPs from day one and invested millions of pounds in the technology and resources to be at the forefront of our profession. With the introduction of hips.co.uk, Spicerhaart is now in the position to provide a fully integrated service for homebuyers and sellers, which includes estate agency, financial and surveying services, as well as supplying home information packs.
“The introduction of home information packs is set to revolutionise the home buying and selling process. HIPs will ensure the home buying process is a lot more transparent and reduce the number of failed transactions significantly.”
