Standard and Poor’s affirmed SPML’s servicer ranking as “above average” for the second year running, and Fitch Ratings rated SPML for the first time this year - awarding the company a rating of 2 for both primary and special servicing, on a scale of 1-4 with 1 being the highest achievable rating. This double accolade makes SPML the first residential mortgage lender in the UK to achieve a servicer ranking from both ratings agencies.
SPML director of operations, Angela Davies, said: “As a lender that is dedicated to in-house mortgage servicing, we are delighted that our servicing continues to achieve external recognition of such high quality. This process involved both S&P and Fitch Ratings conducting a review of SPML's ability to service loans including a review of all our servicing processes, procedures and loan performance. The rankings provide an independent objective analysis of our servicing operation, which benchmarks our servicing against our peer group and also gives SPML further credibility with bankers and investors involved with mortgage backed securitisation transactions. Special thanks go to our Executive Manager – Mortgage Servicing who managed the whole process, and her servicing team, together with all the SPML staff whose daily contributions to work at SPML make these achievements possible.”
