Stonebridge said that with brokers now accounting for the majority share of all home loans written in the UK it felt the time was right to join AMI.
Richard Adams, managing director of Stonebridge Group, said: “We are constantly looking at ways to ensure we are giving our AR firms and individual sellers the best possible service we can.
“We have long been admirers of the sterling work that AMI does in representing the best interests of mortgage brokers in the UK and we felt joining up all our broker partners was evidence of our commitment to them and their ongoing professionalism.
“Brokers have endured some tough times in recent years, but the CML’s figures show they now account for 51% of the market which is evidence not only that things are on the up, but that quality mortgage advice is as important than ever.
“Our members know they have always had our full support and backing, but as we head into the new era promised by the Mortgage Market Review, they now know they have assistance from the largest mortgage broker trade body too.”
Robert Sinclair, chief executive of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, added:
“The professional advice community continues to find its voice through the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries.
“As the issues facing us continue to grow and become more complex, it is great to see quality firms such as the Stonebridge Group lend their financial and practical support to the AMI family.
“I look forward to working with Richard and the team to ensure that the business environment in which they operate is as positive as possible.”
