The total distance covered was 858 miles from Legal & General’s head office in Kingswood, Surrey to Santander, Spain.
Ben Thompson at Legal & General said: “We set out to cycle to Spain in ten days and that is what we did. The team collected a few bumps and bruises along the way and we certainly all felt a little saddle sore afterwards, but it was worth it to raise money for Shelter. We are very close to reaching our target fundraising amount of £20,000, but we aren’t quite there yet. We’re planning a couple of events to raise more funds but we’d welcome any donations that haven’t yet come in from the mortgage industry.”
Paul McCarthy, national key account manager, Abbey for Intermediaries said: “As sponsors of the event we were delighted to see the team come back in one shape, even if a little sore. All the cyclists did the charity, the mortgage industry and themselves very proud.”
