The money is used to support a wide variety of charitable causes in the four locations where HML operates – Skipton, Padiham, Londonderry and Glasgow.
One of the latest projects raised money to sponsor a black labrador Guide Dog puppy named ‘Sky’, for the Skipton area. Sky’s name was chosen following a staff competition at HML’s offices in Skipton. The £250,000 milestone was achieved by the sponsoring of a second puppy which will be based close to HML’s Padiham office. Other charities benefiting from monies raised by HML staff at both a local and national level include:
- Airedale NHS Trust
- Candlelighters
- Sparks
- Craven Clear Cancer Appeal
- Little SaODS Children’s Theatre
- Manorlands
- Yorkshire/Lancs Air Ambulance Service

HML matches all donations received by Team HML, which plays a major part in contributing to its success.
Paul Oxtoby, chairman of Team HML, said: “I’m proud of the work that so many HML staff do to raise money for charitable causes to help the local community and further a field. Reaching the milestone of £250,000 is an impressive achievement and I must congratulate everyone involved with Team HML on this outstanding achievement and also thank HML for its very generous support. HML remains committed to supporting this very worthwhile activity for the benefit of our friends in Skipton, Padiham, Londonderry and Glasgow.”
In addition to the activities of Team HML, last summer the ‘Tour de HML’ bicycle tour took in all four of the company’s sites and raised a substantial sum for a number of local and national charities.
