Having quickly worked her way up from being a cashier with Bristol & West to Branch Manager progressing to Area Manager, Jakie then worked for six years as a BDM developing non-conforming new business for the bank. In 2001 she left to spend a year travelling the world before setting up on her own as a self-employed broker, again specialising in non-conforming mortgages.
As an independent broker, Jakie found herself increasingly on the phone and missed the face to face contact she had enjoyed with Bristol & West. ‘I’m a people person,’ she says. ‘TFC have a strong ethos on personal customer care and they have also demonstrated to me their commitment and interest in their staff. I had three attractive offers on the table at the start of the year but TFC was my first choice, for these very reasons.’
As Jakie builds broker relationships in the South East she will also be advocating registration for TFC’s online mortgage processing system, Track. As she says, ‘I think it’s absolutely brilliant – a real benefit to the broker and their customers. I shall be recommending it everywhere I go.’
Andrew Brown, Partner at TFC said: ‘Jakie’s enthusiasm is infectious and she is extremely competent. Her work in and around the capital will put TFC at a clear advantage to becoming the UK’s leading independent mortgage distributor and we are pleased to welcome her to the company.’
