The free app is protected by biometric authentication and was developed by software company DPR.
Trevor Tannenbaum, head of IT at The Cambridge, said: said: “We’re the first DPR users to launch a consumer mobile app so we’ve spent a lot of time working with them to make sure it gives customers the information they want on the move – as well as making sure it’s simple to use and looks good.
“The Cambridge money app has been highly anticipated by the whole team and we are excited about what this offers our customers.
“With customers able to do simple account administration through the app our frontline staff will have more time to help customers who need advice with their mortgages or savings.
“This is a great way for technology to support personal service rather than being a replacement for face-to- face interaction. “
The society said more functionality will be added to the app as it evolves.
Dave Patel, director at DPR said: “DPR is committed to continually offer The Cambridge with innovative solutions working together with their inventive requirements.
“Having worked with them for many years, we are committed to continue supporting their transition by developing their customer self-service offerings. ”
