The Cambridge completed 1,158 new mortgages during the year as it increased its mortgage balances by 16%.
Andy Lucas, commercial director at The Cambridge, said: “2012 has been a record year for The Cambridge and the fact that 75% of our mortgage business went through our intermediary channel shows how much we have developed this hugely important part of our business.
“We’re always looking at how we can improve the overall experience for mortgage intermediaries and our dedicated business development team work hard at building long term relationships across our lending area.
“Moving into 2013, we see even more opportunities to work closely with intermediaries and as part of our commitment we recently launched Cambridge Select, to recognise the support from a group of predominantly local brokers who submitted a large volume of business to The Cambridge during 2012.
“We value the relationships that we have with our intermediary partners and will continue to work with them to maintain and enhance our highly regarded service.”
During 2012, The Cambridge attracted 8,490 new customers taking its total customer base to 132,000.
