The Key aims to standardise KFIs

MI’s campaign has shown brokers are increasingly frustrated with the length of some lenders’ KFIs. Lawrence Brown at ‘The Key’ said the development of its KFI would take these broker concerns on board.

He said: “The core of the KFI will be as standardised as possible and we will also work closely with the lenders. What we will end up with is a standardised KFI where we pull the information from the lenders and then the brokers can edit this to make it specific.

“In total we aim to keep the illustrations to four pages maximum. All the key facts will be on the first half of the page.”

Since its launch towards the end of last year, ‘The Key’ has acquired 2,000 users and is aiming to increase this to 20,000 users by the end of 2005.

The software allows real-time monitoring of client management, compliance, business and commission monitoring, marketing management and also enables a company’s head office to monitor its salesforce regardless of where they are working from.

Mike Fitzgerald, sales director at Brentchase Financial Services, commented: “This KFI would go down very well with brokers and I imagine they would be happy to pay for the system if it saves them time and trouble. But there is always the issue that these KFIs need to be 100 per cent verified.”
