Are we surprised? No, not really, it goes with the territory. I’m used to it now, although I do wonder how it can be justified given the ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ (TCF) initiative.
I can even name a lender who does not respond to any correspondance sent to it and who has never issued a progress report or update on any cases submitted. Not even an acknowledgement. Its ‘policy’ is that it is ‘not allowed’ to phone out to brokers or clients. How very strange. The front-line workers must find it very frustrating, perhaps someone may like to write to the MI letters page with their point of view? But then again, no – they would probably be in trouble for doing so.
There is one major fact that we must remember – the lenders hold the ultimate key as to whether clients receive a mortgage offer or not, so at this point I’ll shut up.
Progress, eh?
