"It is essential brokers are given a platform to assist those that need it most"
The Mortgage Mum has announced a collaboration with ITV and the Ideal Home Show where the firm will be speaking alongside household names such as Martin Lewis, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Phil Spencer and the Style Sisters.
Sarah Tucker (pictured), managing director of The Mortgage Mum, said it is essential brokerages are offered this platform to extend their reach by providing advice and assisting those that need it most, given the financial outlook of the market at present.
Tucker added that working in partnership with ITV and the Ideal Home Show was an incredible opportunity for the business, and she feels like it is a pivotal moment in the company’s journey.
“We spent 2022 trying to be recognised as a national brand, and so this feels like validation of that,” she said.
A platform for brokers
Tucker believes it is incredibly important a brokerage has been given this platform during such a difficult time for the general public across the UK.
“We have been celebrated as a relatable voice of reason and hope, with the ability to translate what is happening in the mortgage industry in a way that audiences relate to, and feel comforted by,” she said.
Tucker added that it is a huge responsibility when so many people need good advice, and also need to feel calmer about their financial situation.
“My advice to fellow brokers is to stay consistent in their message and their marketing, and to connect to a mission greater than mortgages,” she said.
Tucker added that brokers must consider who they can serve with the work that they do, and she believes that will in turn give them an incredible sense of purpose.
“People have never needed brokers more, given the financial climate. You must find passion in that,” Tucker said.
Providing advice
The topic of the firm’s Super Theatre talk is on ‘five tips to survive the mortgage crisis’ and will be delivered four times across the show.
“We will be talking about consumers’ relationship with money, SWAP rates, the Bank of England base rate, practical tips and solutions, green mortgages and more,” she said.
Within the Expert Advice Hub, Tucker said The Mortgage Mum will be providing advice in 30 minute appointments all day every day for the full 17 days of the show.
“Appointments are able to be booked in advance, as well as on the day, and we will be giving advice on mortgages, protection, later life lending, specialist finance and new build,” Tucker said.
Achieving recognition
Tucker noted that the firm had enjoyed national coverage with ITV’s This Morning, as well as Jeremy Vine on Channel 5 and Sky News, with those appearances leading to its latest partnership.
“We are being seen as a trusted voice, an expert and an educator in our field; and this is something we are passionate about,” she said.
Tucker added that she is looking forward to providing a positive voice across the 17 days, both as a speaker on the Super Theatre stage, as well as providing the mortgage advice in the Expert Advice Hub.
“We expect 200,000 to be in attendance, as well as the opportunity to integrate with major household names in the mortgage industry,” she said.
The Ideal Home Show begins on March 17 at Olympia London and runs until April 2.
