PRC&PC can now boast that 11 of its advisers have become Certified Financial Planners – more than any other firm in the UK. Only 310 advisers within the industry have reached this level.
This is the first team from PRC&PC to go through the programme, it is intended that further groups will follow on a regular basis.
The highly regarded Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) says that as a CFP Licensee: “…you will find yourself at the top of your profession in a position that will enable you to offer a very valuable and profitable service to your clients.”
Talking about the achievement, Peter Sprung who heads up PRC&PC said:
“I’m delighted. We set out to be the best-qualified firm offering best advice and our advisers have very much bought in to this concept. They were already very experienced and highly-qualified professionals, but recognized the value of taking this further. They have demonstrated their dedication to this Profession and their belief in what they want to offer to their clients by taking a week out of their diaries to study for this qualification. We see this as the ultimate verification of what they and Corporate & Private Clients stands for.”
He continued:
“This is a clear demonstration of the determination of all involved within Park Row to educate our advisers to the highest standards available. My congratulations to the team on rapidly achieving the CFP standard.”
The importance of the qualification is highlighted by the Institute of Financial Planning’s description:
“The CFP ® and Certified Financial Planner ™ trademarks are internationally recognised symbols of a commitment to the adoption of certain standards of education, continuing professional development and ethical behaviour. A CFP Licensee is a professionally qualified Financial Planner who has successfully fulfilled a rigorous set of additional requirements to qualify for the International CFP Council’s licence.”
Nick Cann, Chief Executive of the Institute of Financial Planning said:
“The Institute is delighted that a firm with the size and vision of Park Row has embraced the importance of well-qualified advisers and in particular the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Licence as the pinnacle of professionalism. We are delighted to be working with them to achieve their goal of having the best qualified team of advisers in the UK.”
A unique feature of the Park Row Group is that there is a clearly defined and well supported career ladder in place, beginning with non-industry recruits and moving through CeMap, FPC, AFPC and now with CFP, beyond. This structure provides a home for all types of advisers, the focus being on their ability and their ambition rather than the need to fit individuals into a single level. It is Park Row’s intention to enable all quality advisers, regardless of experience to date, to progress further within the Group – if they want to. It is a structure which is relevant to, and caters for, today’s regulatory regime and the future depolarised model. It also allows Park Row to cater to the different needs and requirements of existing and potential financial services customers.
