Standard Life and Skandia have both signed up for Focus’ 3D service that encompasses the ‘Design, Development and Deployment’ of intelligent electronic application forms. The 3D service aims to provide insurers with a ‘fast track’ route to market for the development of new electronic products. With highly skilled staff specifically trained in the area of electronic product development and with business relationships set up with all the main IFA portals, Focus has been able to establish a centre of excellence for the build and deployment of electronic products.
Focus has built and deployed PPFlex (Pension) and LPS (Term) electronic applications for Standard Life for deployment across the IFA portals and is currently working with Skandia on a new 3D project, also for the IFA portals. Scottish Equitable will use the ‘Development’ element of the service for a project to enhance their electronic applications for their Protection, Pensions and Bond products.
Nigel Smith, Director of Market Propositions at Focus Solutions comments;
“The Focus 3D service accelerates the speed to market for insurers’ new electronic products and enables them to concentrate their own resources on core IT projects. Once built, insurers can reuse their electronic products across multiple distribution channels to extend the initial return on investment.”
Focus uses goal:technology, its XML toolkit, to build electronic products, used by over 70% of the leading life and pensions organisations to enable electronic trading. There are currently 68 electronic products
available across the main IFA portals, 94% of which are built using goal:technology.
