Holmes was part of the original team that launched TMB in 1989. Since then he has fulfilled a number of roles within the company including new business, customer service, systems support and project management.
His role will see him heavily involved in the strategic management of TMB with the aim of enhancing its proposition to the packager market through better products and services.
Holmes said: “This new role gives me the opportunity to work with the rest of the management team and shape TMBs offering to the packager market.
“We’ve identified where we want to be in the market and now have sound foundations to build from at a time when packagers look set to benefit hugely from a shift in the mortgage market from mainstream to specialist lending.”
Nigel Payne, managing director at TMB, said: “Robert’s experience of the market and TMB will ensure the new management team keeps the elements of TMB that worked in the past while shaping the business for the future.”
Holmes started his career with BHS before joining Capital Bank, part of the Bank of Scotland group in 1986. Three years later he was part of the team in its secured lending department that identified the opportunities the intermediary market could offer – and TMB was created.
