Town & Country Property Services offer HIP lifeline

Town & Country Property Services managing director Bob Scott says those who had been employed in the HIP industry could easily become estate agents and still use the skills they have acquired over the past three years.

Scott told Mortgage Introducer: “Love them or hate them, HIPs created a new industry within the financial services arena with an estimated 6,000 directly involved in their production; the majority of those having invested thousands to train to produce.

“We are offering all those affected easy access to an exclusive Town & Country Property Services estate agency franchise to take advantage of the knowledge they have accumulated over the last three years.

"Not many will be shedding tears for the loss of the HIPs, but job losses are never good news under any circumstances.”

Franchises are for a geographical and demographical area on Town & Country Property Services owned website zebrahomes.co.uk and have a one-off cost of £2,495.

Franchisees are given full estate agency training at a three day residential course when they sign up, and Town & Coutry Property Services provides a marketing package including photography and measurement tools and training.

Day-to-day support is on offer from Town & Country centrally, and franchisees are automatically registered on a range of portals including Rightmove, Zoopla and Primelocation.

Earlier in May Scott encouraged mortgage brokers to sign on to the franchise business as a means to generate leads and opportunities for cross-selling.
