The i-MAPS system went live on 1 July but was available only to its members and has been monitored to ensure any problems were fixed immediately. Trustguard, a branded partner of GMAC-RFC, said it is now confident the system, which was developed in-house over 18 months, is ready for general usage.
i-MAPS provides a fully-automated mortgage processing service online and allows Trustguard to customise forms, documents and workflow streams. It also includes a ‘live’ online tracking service which can be accessed by password and shows full details of all mortgages and loan clients.
Sian Brown, national sales and marketing manager at Trustguard Credit Services, said: “The feedback we have had so far for the online tracking has been excellent. As the system is live our intermediaries can see exactly what stage the application is at, which in turn cuts the amount of telephone queries.”
“Long-term, we see the system speeding up the processing of mortgage and loan applications ultimately enabling us to process more applications in a shorter period of time,” she added.
Matt Grayson, public relations manager at BM Solutions, said: “It’s better late than never and the more the merrier. The quicker more firms begin to use online systems and techno-logy the better. I applaud any investment in IT and online-based services.”
