Vernon Building Society has announced the promotion of Jack Dougan to the role of business development manager from his current position of intermediary desk adviser.
He will be responsible for mortgage book growth and intermediary relations, continuing to support brokers to find mortgage solutions for their clients.
Dougan joined Vernon in 2021 as intermediary desk adviser, supporting brokers with their cases. Prior to this, he was a mortgage adviser for six years.
“I’m thrilled to be taking up this role with the Vernon and continuing to work in the society’s fantastic intermediary mortgage team,” Dougan said. “We’re committed to supporting brokers and put intermediaries at the centre of our strategy. Now I can’t wait to get started in my new role and get out and about meeting our broker partners.”
Brendan Crowshaw, head of mortgage and savings distribution at Vernon, said they were delighted to promote Dougan to business development manager.
“We have been hugely impressed by his expertise in the intermediary mortgage market during his time on the broker desk,” Crowshaw said. “As an ex-broker, Jack has strong empathy with the intermediary sector and knows that delivering great personal service is an absolute priority for the society.”
