A team of eight Vida Homeloans staff members, consisting of David Tweedy, Louisa Sedgwick, Ian Giles, Simon Burnell, Tommy Wight, Plamen Mitkov, Joshua Dines and Dave Whitford, successfully completed the Prudential RideLondon - Surrey100 on 30 July 2017 to raise £5,000 for Shelter.
The 100-mile bike ride, whose route starts at the Olympic Park, heads out to the Surrey Hills and ends on the Mall, was completed by Team Vida in a range of times from 5 to 7 hours. With donations from friends, family, colleagues and industry contacts, they have now met their fundraising target for Shelter, and their efforts put them in the top 1% of fundraisers on JustGiving in July.
Shelter is a UK charity that helps people in housing need by providing advice and practical assistance, and fights for better investment in housing and for laws and policies to improve the lives of homeless and badly housed people.
Ian Giles, director of marketing at Vida Homeloans, said:“We help people who might not fit high street lenders' criteria to buy property using a mortgage. But we recognise that not everyone is as fortunate with their housing and we feel that it is important to support Shelter in its work helping homeless families in the UK.”
