This event is the first of its kind for Sesame and will allow advisers to:
• Participate in live interactive panel debates
• Watch live or watch again via a recorded link
• Save time and money by not having to travel
The two-hour event will consist of a series of panel-based discussions with senior figures including Sesame’s executive chairman Ivan Martin and sales & marketing director Stephen Young, along with AIFA director general Chris Cummings and industry experts from AEGON, AXA, Prudential, Scottish Widows and the Financial Services Skills Council.
Advisers will be able to both watch and also participate in the debates via a live question feed. The debates will cover an overview of RDR and the impact it will have on advisers’ businesses, including a look at the road to diploma status and the routes available. Advisers will also receive an insight into remodelling their business, such as the transition from commissions to fees, along with details of the practical support that Sesame and some product providers have put in place to help.
Additionally, the debates will examine the impact of the RDR on product providers and the challenges they face, and in turn how the actions they are taking will impact on advisers.
Nick Kelly, Sesame managing director of Network and Direct, says: “The Retail Distribution Review is set to alter the very foundations of our industry, which is why Sesame is committed to ensuring that advisers are made fully aware of the implications and have the support they need to make the transition. With so much information for advisers to get their heads around it is vital that we make the process as convenient and efficient as possible in order to minimise disruption and time spent away from client facing work.”
