Watts Commercial Finance has secured over £3.5m of funding offers for clients across the country over the last few weeks.
The money has gone towards supporting projects such as a £39,000 commercial mortgage for an aesthetics and beauty training centre in Ayrshire, a £110,000 capital raise against an Indian restaurant for further commercial investment, and a £422,500 commercial investment in Glasgow for a client building their commercial property portfolio.
In addition, the firm secured funding for a £1.2m bridging loan for a client in Nottinghamshire who required funding quickly to secure the ideal property for their trading business.
Emma Ross, commercial manager at Watts Commercial Finance, said: “While this is a testing time for many businesses in the leisure and retail industries, we have been inundated with a variety of enquiries from SME businesses.
“A number of business owners who have previously rented are taking advantage of their strong trading records to secure funding on their own commercial premises while commercial landlords are taking advantage of the LBTT (Land and Building Transaction Tax) threshold increase before this reverts to the lower rate at the end of March.”
Dean Thomson, commercial manager at Watts Commercial Finance, added: “To sustain the success of Scotland’s SMEs, it is vital that business owners can access funding when they need it.
“Through consistent communication with our dedicated panel of lenders, not only can we access competitive rates for our clients but we can also ensure that each deal is being placed with an appropriate lender who is committed to seeing SME businesses thrive as much as we are here at Watts."
