Byford joins Webline following 15 years at Prudential, where he was responsible for the provider’s ebusiness proposition, including its award winning adviser extranet (www.pruadviser.co.uk) and managing relations with portals and adviser technology suppliers. During this period he was also chairman of the UNIPASS committee, working closely with colleagues at other life offices and with Origo, the standards committee. He has also represented Prudential on PAG and was a founder member of Adviser Forum and the Adviser E-Enquiry.
Paul Holland, managing director, Webline: “We are already well known as the fastest growing adviser portal in the marketplace but our determination to continue this progress can clearly be seen from all the new partners, providers and users which have joined even in recent months. Adam is an exceptionally talented and committed ecommerce professional and his addition to our growing team will be instrumental in driving forward our progress. We are thoroughly delighted to have him on board and are confident that his extensive experience and industry knowledge will give us a huge advantage with our future strategic plans.”
Byford comments: “It is obviously a major decision to leave a successful life office and although I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Prudential, I am really excited about working with Webline as they are such a fast growing and dynamic organisation.
“The whole ebusiness market is really evolving rapidly in the UK with ecommerce distribution now recognised as a major distribution channel. Webline’s commitment to drive forward the development of market leading services has already impressed many industry commentators and I am proud to be joining them at such an exciting time and in such a key position within their team.”
