YMD has been undergoing a recruitment drive for some months but is struggling due to a lack of candidates who meet the required standards.
Managing director Dominik Lipnicki said: “Over the past year we have taken on four quality candidates who can all realistically expect to earn in excess of £50,000 in their first year and we have an urgent need for five more but it is a frustrating struggle given the lack of truly driven candidates.”
Lipnicki said adviser numbers have fallen to below 7000 which is making the recruitment process event harder.
He said: “All too often we see candidates who just do not provide a service worthy of the good professional fee which is achievable. A drive to improve the image of our industry externally is what is required and we can all assist in this by promoting the good work and great opportunities which still exist for the right people.”
