Yopa has promoted Freddie Cornes (pictured) to managing director.
Cornes had previously been the chief financial officer at the firm since August 2018.
Earlier on in Cornes’ career, he trained as a chartered accountant at Deloitte before working as a financial analyst at Sky.
In addition, Cornes has spent time at DMGT, where he was head of commercial finance, responsible for the financial performance of all advertising sales and consumer departments within the media arm of Yopa’s longstanding investor.
Grenville Turner, chairman of Yopa, said: “Freddie has been instrumental in leading the business over the course of the last two years.
“His appointment is part of the careful consideration Yopa’s board has put into our long-term succession planning.
“It reflects our appreciation of Freddie’s significant contribution to Yopa’s turn-around performance to date and our confidence in its future potential.”
Cornes added: “I am extremely proud to be stepping into the role of managing director at Yopa.
“We’ve made huge strides over the past year in particular thanks to the hard work of Yopa’s business owners and staff.
“We’ve grown our market share to reach the top five estate agency brands in the UK, helped our agents to grow their businesses and earnings, and seen significant progress in financial performance.
“As a result, we have been cash generating since April 2020.”
